2013 ROSÉ OF PINOT NOIR, SONOMA COAST
The 2013, 50 by 50 Rosé of Pinot Noir is fashioned from the same 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir clones as its still gestating big brother. The 3.1 tons of grapes were harvested in late September of 2013 in a growing season punctuated by a warm, dry fall that many say exceeds the much-vaunted 2012 vintage.
The 2013, 50 by 50 Rosé of Pinot Noir is superbly crisp and dry delivering the expected full, lush finish of Pinot Noir fruit that guarantees satisfaction.
85% of the yield will become our 2013 Pinot Noir following the same methodologies as those for our 2012 vintage. However we designated a small batch of juice specifically to fashion a Rose. After brief contact with the skins the pink juice was poured into a stainless steel tank. The small, 50 case allotment will be released in late April of 2014 for immediate spring and summer enjoyment.
