2016 PINOT NOIR, SONOMA COAST
The 2016 Pinot Noir is gushing lush fruit, a good balance of oak and acid and tasting very complex with a floral bouquet as it opens up. It delivers concentrated flavors; black cherry with pepper and spice, then earth, herb and mushroom.
I just couldn’t wait until the perfectly fine 2015 Pinot Noir was gone to release my 2016 Pinot Noir. Nothing has changed in the approach to winemaking or my first class, Rodger’s Creek, vineyard source since my first release of The 50 by 50 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2012. Mother Nature is the only wildcard that determines the hand that I’m dealt. 2016 delivered a Full House.
